Founded in late 1987, the International Stamp Collectors of New York (ISCNY) is a vibrant and dedicated community of stamp enthusiasts. An affiliate of the American Philatelic Society since its inception, it is a vibrant and dedicated community of stamp enthusiasts. ISCNY has a rich history and has evolved over the years to meet the needs of its fellow collectors.
We offer a range of activities designed to educate, engage, and connect our members. ISCNY hosts weekly educational Zoom meetings covering diverse topics, from identifying rare stamps to their historical contexts, providing valuable insights and fostering engaging discussions. Our monthly in-person meetings allow collectors to showcase their collections, share knowledge, and benefit from the collective wisdom of the group. These gatherings also feature auctions, enabling members to acquire new additions to their collections and exchange stamps with others.
Our club has had several notable members, including Ruth Gazes, whose enthusiastic recruitment efforts brought many into our community. Dan Rieber currently serves as our club president, continuing the tradition of leadership and dedication.
Historically, ISCNY meetings were held at the International House at Columbia University, and later at the Soldiers & Sailors Club on Lexington Avenue. Today, we continue to adapt and thrive, meeting at various locations in Manhattan and virtually, making us more international than ever.
At ISCNY, we celebrate the art and stories behind every stamp, creating a welcoming environment for both novice and experienced collectors to grow their passion for philately. Join us to deepen your knowledge, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and participate in the exciting journey of stamp collecting.
